RICHMOND, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team fell 7-0 tonight in its 2024 season opener against NCAA Division I Eastern Kentucky at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.

The Colonels (6-3) grabbed an early 1-0 lead after sweeping all three doubles matches.

Moritz Mayer and Mario Monclus Martin captured the first win of the match with a 6-1 victory over Jaume Barcelo and Lucas Marques in the second-seeded doubles match.

Eastern Kentucky secured the doubles point on court one following a 6-3 win for Fernando Bulnes and Evzen Holis over Miquel Perez and Jan Silhavy. The Colonels wrapped up doubles play with a 6-3 win over court three to take a 1-0 lead into singles.

Eastern Kentucky swept all six singles matches in straight sets to take the match 7-0.

The Blue Raiders return to action at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, February 10, as Lindsey Wilson travels to Indiana Southeast in New Albany, Ind.
