COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 12 seed Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team takes on No. 5 seed Menlo (Calif.) at 6 p.m. CT in the first round of the NAIA Women's Basketball Tournament Friday at Lithia Motors Pavilion in Ashland, Oregon. The winner of the game will face the winner of No. 5 Southern Oregon and No. 13 Antelope Valley (Calif.) on Saturday at 6 p.m. CT.
The Blue Raiders enter the tournament with a 19-11 record. Lindsey Wilson was last in action on March 3 where they fell to Campbellsville (Ky.) in the Mid-South Conference Tournament Semifinals.
Lucy Patterson recorded her 11th double-double of the season scoring 13 points and recording 10 rebounds.
Patterson leads Lindsey Wilson in points (12.3) and in rebounds per game averaging 8.4.
Amelia Hodges also averages double-digit points per game with 10.8. The Blue Raiders average 74.1 points per game and allow 66.5 a game. Lindsey Wilson shoots 44% from the field and 32.9% from beyond the arc.
Menlo is 18-8 and went 11-3 in the Golden State Athletic Conference. The Oaks lost a 61-60 contest to the Master's (Calif.) 61-60 in the Conference Tournament Semifinals. Jasmyne Huggins led Menlo with 19 points.
The Oaks are led by Kiara Brown who is averaging 16.6 points per game and averages a team-high 9.8 rebounds per game. Jordyn Rosette averages 13.6 points per game while Huggins averages 11.8. As a team, Menlo averages 73.6 points per game and allows 64.8 a game. The Oaks shoot 43.9% from the floor and 33.6% from three.
