CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- No. 15-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis overcame an early deficit to beat host Campbellsville (Ky.) 4-3 today at the Kelly Hall Tennis Complex.
Trailing 1-0 after doubles play, Lindsey Wilson (7-3, 2-0 in the Mid-South Conference) won four of the first five singles matches to remain unbeaten in the MSC.
Miquel Perez started the run for the Blue Raiders with a win over Nicolas Andrade on court three. Perez needed a tiebreak in the second set to notch the first point of the day for Lindsey Wilson with a 6-3, 7-6 (4) win.
Thirteen-ranked Jan Silhavy nudged the Blue Raiders in front in the top-seeded match with a come-from-behind win. After dropping the opening set to Manuel Pinheiro 6-3, Silhavy won set two in a tiebreak and the final set 6-0 to give Lindsey Wilson a 2-1 advantage.
Nahuel Hernando evened the match at 2-2 with his win over Jaume Barcelo on court two.
Anatoliy Voloshyn put the Blue Raiders in front for good on court five with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Hernan Toledo. Voloshyn -- ranked 53rd in the NAIA in singles -- improves to 7-2 this season with his fifth straight win.
Lucas Marques secured the team win over the Blue Raiders in the fourth-seeded match. After losing the first set in a tiebreak to Nathan Boulard, Marques did not drop a game over the last two sets to win the match 6-7, 6-0, 6-0.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Wednesday, March 20, as the Blue Raiders host Georgetown (Ky.) at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
