COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Blue Raider softball team opens Mid-South Conference play on Saturday at (RV) Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.). The league-opening series is slated to consist of seven-inning doubleheaders beginning at 2 p.m. CST on Saturday and 12:30 p.m. CST on Sunday at Tucker Field in Henderson, Tennessee.

Lindsey Wilson is coming off a two-game sweep of Indiana-Purdue Columbus (Ind.) on Tuesday. The back-to-back wins pushed the Blue Raiders back over .500 on the year and featured seven different batters with multiple hits.

Freshman Natalie Wandrie and senior Kendall Dailey are each riding team-long four-game hitting streaks. During that span, the latter of the two is 6-for-12 with a double and a run batted-in, while Wandrie has muscled five extra-base hits and six runs batted-in, including an inside-the-park home run against the Crimson Pride.

In the circle, junior Savannah Robbins, who is fresh off a no-hitter on Tuesday, checks in with a 1.24 earned-run average in two starts, and fellow junior Abigail Cruz is boasting a spotless earned-run average over her last two appearances.

Freed-Hardeman enters the weekend two games above .500 after splitting its most recent series versus Tennessee Southern on Tuesday.

The Lions are led on offense by the likes of Brinley Cousar and her conference-best .528 batting average. She has recorded a hit in each of Freed-Hardeman's 16 games so far this season and leads the team with 10 multi-hit games. Her teammate Karli Quillin is actively sporting a 13-game reached-base streak.

Freshman Kylee Brown is 5-2 in 10 appearances on the rubber for the Lions and she currently leads the Mid-South for total walks allowed.

Lindsey Wilson is eyeing an end to a six-game losing skid against the Lions. The Blue Raiders last win in the all-time series came back on April 2, 2022, in Henderson.
