COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team is looking to extend their win streak to nine on Monday when they face No. 24 University of the Cumberlands.
The Blue Raiders are currently 11-2 and 4-0 in conference play, coming off a 7-0 sweep of Union. In singles, Anastasiia Vorobiova has extended her win streak to five straight, with a record of 8-2 at first racket. At second racket, Mariangeles Mateu is on an eight match win streak with a 10-2 record on the second court and 1-0 on first court. Anastasiia Ivanchenko is also on an eight match win streak, going 8-0 on court five and Darija Mladenovic has a seven game win streak with a 6-0 record on court four and a 4-2 record on court three.
In doubles, Vorobiova and Mladenovic are on a three match win streak on court one, going 3-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play. With the same record on court three is Ivanchenko and Martina Cortal and Mateu and Heyka Rodriguez are on a two match win streak, going 7-0 on court three.
University of the Cumberlands has a record of 9-6 overall and 2-0 in conference play, and are most recently coming off a sweep of Freed-Hardeman and will be taking on Georgetown on Saturday before facing the Blue Raiders. The last time the Blue Raiders and the Patriots met was on October 7, 2023 with Lindsey Wilson taking the win 6-1.
Monday's match is set to begin at 2 p.m. CST and Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
