COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team sits in 14th place following day one of the NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships at the Columbus Aquatics Center.

The Blue Raiders finished 11th overall in both of their relays on Wednesday afternoon, dropping a combined 4.05 seconds from their seeded times.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Dario Soria, Max van Schagen, Jose Rivas and Clinton Eales posted a season-best time of 1:33.72, while the 800-yard freestyle quartet of Malte Ahrens, Fabio Martin Rojo, Soria and Rivas shaved 3.16 seconds of their entry time and touched the wall at 6:53.25.

Day two of the national championships begins at 8 a.m. CST on Thursday with three different preliminary events scheduled.

Ethan Butler, Ahrens, and Martin Rojo are slated to compete in the 500-yard freestyle, Rivas and Soria will compete in the 200-yard individual medley, and Clinton Eales and van Schagen will swim the 50-yard freestyle.
