Men's Swimming Continues to Climb Leaderboard at National Championships

COLUMBUS, Ga. – On the penultimate day of the NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships, the Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team moved up one spot to 11th place.

The Blue Raiders will enter Saturday nine points back of 10th-place Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) after Friday's efforts.

Junior Fabio Martin Rojo led off the evening session for Lindsey Wilson with a season-best time of 1:40.97 in the 200-yard freestyle, followed by a 15th-place finish from Max van Schagen in the 100-yard breaststroke and a mark of 56.86.

The 400-yard medley relay team of Dario Soria, Jose Rivas, Clinton Eales, and van Schagen closed out the day and hit the wall at 3:27.36, placing them in 10th.

The final day of the national championships begins at 8 a.m. CST on Saturday morning with another dose of preliminary races.

Soria is slated to compete in the 200-yard backstroke, van Schagen will swim the 100-yard freestyle, Eales and Rivas are due back to compete in the 200-yard breaststroke, Malte Ahrens returns for the 200-yard butterfly, and Martin Rojo will go to work in the 1,6500yard freestyle.
