BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team captured the Mid-South Conference Tournament Championship Wednesday at Bowling Green Country Club.
The Blue Raiders capture their first conference tournament title since 2011 and eighth overall. With the victory, Lindsey Wilson earns the conference's automatic bid into the NAIA Women's Golf National Tournament.
Lindsey Wilson finished the three-round tournament with a 34-over par 898 (293-298-307) beating out runner-up Cumberlands by five shots. The Blue Raiders led the tournament carding 168 pars.
Danielle Bekker won the individual title with a 1-under 215 (71-71-73). Bekker was even on par 4s and led the tournament with 43 pars.
Papatsara Niamrungrueang finished tied for second with a 220 (70-76-74) while
Katie Biddlecombe finished tied for fifth with a 228 (76-72-80). Bekker, Niamrungrueang and Biddlcombe all earned MSC Women's Golf All-Tournament Team honors for their top-five finishes.
Kayla Saunders finished tied for 14th with a 243 (84-79-80) while
Megan Mann finished tied for 20th with a 247 (76-88-83).
The Blue Raiders turn their focus to the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship which takes place from May 14-17 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.
