SILVIS, Ill. – The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team wrapped up play at the NAIA National Championship Friday at TPC Deere Run with a ninth-place finish.
The ninth-place finish is the sixth top-10 finish at the NAIA Tournament in program history and the best finish since 2011. Lindsey Wilson finished the tournament with a 106-over par 1263 (323-322-314-304). The Blue Raiders' 304 in the final round is the best score in program history for a round at the National Tournament.
Kayla Saunders (82-78-80-74) and
Danielle Bekker (80-80-78-76) each posted their lowest-rounds of the tournament Friday and finished tied for 33rd with a 314. Saunders was -1 on her first nine holes and recorded three birdies.
Katie Biddlecombe finished tied for 44th with a 318 (79-83-77-79) while
Megan Mann was tied for 57th after carding a 324 (82-81-80-81).
Papatsara Niamrungrueang carded a 75 in the final round bringing her total to 158 are recording an 83 in the second round.
Cumberlands was the other Mid-South Conference school at the championship and finished seventh with a 1258.
Keiser (Fla.) took home the team title with an 1194 while Oklahoma City finished runner-up with a 1210. Keiser's Hoi Ki Lau won the individual title with a 1-over 289.
