STATESBORO, Ga. – The Lindsey Wilson archery team finished fourth at the Collegiate Target Nationals Sunday.
The Blue Raiders totaled 85 points over the three-day event.. Following the conclusion of the championship, the USA Archery All-Americans and individual Shooters of the Year were announced.
Five Blue Raiders earned All-American honors based on their performances at national events this season.
T Sanchez (men's recurve),
Austin Taylor (men's compound),
Anastacia Godman (women's barebow),
Wyatt Burtts (men's fixed pins) and
Sophia Hunziger (women's fixed pins) all earned All-American honors.
Action wrapped on Sunday with mixed team rounds as Lindsey Wilson earned three podium finishes. Burtts and Hunziger finished runner-up in mixed fixed pins. The duo opened competition with a 150-133 win against Campbellsville. They then defeated Kentucky Christian 150-148 in the quarterfinals and advanced to the finals with a victory over Wabash Valley. The duo fell to Cumberlands 151-146 in the finals.
Sanchez and
Layla Blevins earned bronze in mixed recurve. They defeated Kentucky Christian 6-2 in the first round and then defeated Metropolitan State 6-0 in the quarterfinals. The duo fell to Cumberlands 6-2 and defeated Michigan State 5-1 to finish third.
Jacob Cook and Godman finished third in mixed barebow. In the first round, they picked up a 6-0 victory over Kentucky Christian. They then defeated Campbellsville 5-4 in the quarterfinals before falling to Pikeville in the semifinals. The duo defeated California Davis 6-0 to earn bronze.
