AJ Shagool and
Jarrett Napier have been named Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2023-24 men's golf season, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' office announced Monday.
The 2023-24 list features 380 student-athletes and 125 schools who achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. To be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale; appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
Shagool and Napier were each previously recognized with scholar-athlete honors in 2023, making this their second career accolades.
Cumberland (Tenn.) led the Mid-South Conference with six selections, followed by Campbellsville (Ky.) and Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) with three apiece.
