WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson archery team opened its 2024 season on Friday at the USA Archery 3D Regional Championships where five Blue Raiders earned podium finishes.
T Sanchez finished first in men's recurve with a 410 (204-206) and had 11 12s.
Tanner Boyd finished fourth totaling a 356 (171-185) while
AJ Shagool finished fifth with a 351 (178-173).
Zach Jackson also posted a top-10 finish in recurve coming in sixth with a 346 (172-174).
Anna Krampe took gold in women's fixed pins finishing with a total of 396 (192-204) totaling 11 12s.
Madeline McGuire just missed out on a medal totaling a score of 387 (206-181).
The Blue Raiders took two of the top three spots in men's fixed pins led by
Wyatt Burtts who finished runner-up with a total of 416 (206-210) while recording 14 12s.
Daniel Clayton earned a bronze medal also totaling 416 (214-202) and 13 12s.
In men's barebow,
TJ Ramsey earned a bronze medal totaling a score of 321 (168-153).
Sarah McCarthy finished fourth in women's barebow with a 316 (172-144) while
Anastacia Godman placed sixth with a 299 (159-140).
Micah Bettersworth finished sixth in women's recurve with a total of 343 (189-154) while
Layla Blevins was seventh with a 338 (170-168).
Ken Parsley and
Parker Braddock finished in the top-10 in men's compound coming in seventh and 10th, respectively.
Following the regionals, the teams for tomorrow's Mid-South Conference 3D championship were determined. In women's fixed pins, McGuire,
Audrey Mills and
MaKenna Langley team up. Teaming up in women's barebow are McCarthy, Godman and
Morgan Wilson. Bettersworth, Blevins and
Raegan McGuffey will team up in women's recurve. In women's compound,
Emma Kist,
Sophia Hunziger and
Jerzi Sharp team up.
On the men's side, Burtts, Clayton and
Jaden Souder will team up in fixed pins. Ramsey,
Sean Neal and
LaQuann Williams are teaming up in men's barebow. Boyd, Shagool and Jackson are teaming up in men's recurve. Parsley, Braddock and
Gus Burtts will be competing in men's compound team.
Boyd and Bettersworth team up in mixed recurve, Ramsey and McCarthy compete in mixed barebow, Parsley and Kist team up in mixed compound and
Wyatt Burtts and McGuire compete in mixed fixed pins.
The MSC Championship gets underway Saturday morning at Cumberlands.
