Women's Swimming in Second Following Opening Day of the Fall Frenzy

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's swim team sits in second place after day one of the Dr. Dillery Fall Frenzy inside the Holloway Natatorium.

The Blue Raiders produced four event wins and 294 team points to trail only Indiana Wesleyan by 43 points.

Maaike Broersma and Kirsten de Goede each provided a leg in both of Lindsey Wilson's winning relays and set NAIA provisional standard times in their individual events, as well.

The meet began with Lindsey Wilson placing first in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Hannah Woyscheszik, Natalia Gorska, de Goede, and Broersma teamed up to touch the wall at 1:39.04.

Then, in the 200-yard individual medley, de Goede bested the pool of 19 swimmers by nearly four seconds with a provisional time of 2:14.87.

The junior went on to collect another provisional mark in the 50-yard freestyle, as did Broersma and Gorska, who finished first and second, respectively, while de Goede clocked in fourth.

The session concluded with the 400-yard medley relay, seeing Sara Motyl, Nathalie Medina, Broersma, and de Goede top the competition by nine seconds with a winning time of 4:02.46.

Medina also picked up a provisional standard time in the 500-yard freestyle, placing second behind a mark of 5:18.19.

Lindsey Wilson returns to the pool for day two of the Dr. Dillery Fall Frenzy at 9 a.m. CST on Saturday, September 28.
