COLUMBIA, Ky.- Women's basketball laces up to take on Mid-South Conference foe, Cumberland University (Tenn.), Saturday at 1 pm CT in Biggers Sports Center. 

Lindsey Wilson has been led in conference play by Saniyah Shelton who is averaging 19.5 points and five rebounds. Taylor Guess also averages 15.0 points, five rebounds, two assists,  87.5 percent from the charity stripe, and 60 percent from behind the arc. Jarie Thomas is the other Blue Raider scoring in double digits during conference play with 11.0, and shooting 100 percent from the free throw line. 

The Blue Raiders (12-5) are on a two-game losing streak with their most recent loss coming last Saturday against #3 Campbellsville University (Ky.). The Tigers took the victory, defeating Lindsey Wilson 82-61. Shelton and the Blue Raiders look to bounce back against the Phoenix of Cumberland University for their first conference win. 

The Phoenix (8-9) are coming off a 79-56 loss to Campbellsville on Thursday and look to also mark their first win down on their 0-2 start to conference play. The Cumberland offense is led by Kayla Gordon who averages 13.5 points per game while grabbing 5.6 boards and shooting 73.9 percent from the free throw line. Emaleigh Tarpley averages a near double-double with 10.6 points and 9.8 rebounds per game while shooting 71.6 percent from the charity stripe. Ever Walker is the final Phoenix who averages double digits adding 10.0 points per game alongside shooting 70 percent from the free throw line. 

This will be the 50th all time match-up between the Blue Raiders and Phoenix with the last game going to the Blue Raiders 74-64 on Feb. 8, 2024. Lindsey Wilson has won seven of the last 10 match-ups and looks to defend their home floor for the final game of what was four game home stand for the Blue Raiders, adding a win to the win column. 

Tip-off will occur at 1 pm CT Saturday at Biggers Sports Center, immediately followed by the men's team taking on the Phoenix at 3 pm CT.
