COLUMBIA, Ky. – Back in the Holloway Natatorium for the first time in over two months on Saturday, the Lindsey Wilson women's swimming team picked up where it left off and rolled by Asbury (Ky.) and Tennessee Southern.
The Blue Raiders won 13 events, including both relays, and locked in 10 NAIA "B"-cut standards and one "A"-cut.
The lone "A" standard time came from
Maaike Broersma in the 100-yard backstroke – 56.79. She also added "B"-cut wins in the 200-yard backstroke and 50-yard freestyle.
Kirsten de Goede posted three individual victories, all with "B"-cuts, in the 100 and 200-yard freestyles and the 200-yard individual medley, while
Sara Motyl swept the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke races with "B" standard marks of 1:08.81 and 2:33.52, respectively.
In the 1,000-yard freestyle,
Nathalie Medina hit the wall first by almost a full minute, then went on to win the 200-yard butterfly with a "B"-cut time of 2:15.32, and finish runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle behind another NAIA standard.
Natascha Evreinoff secured a win and "B"-cut of her own in the day's penultimate individual event, posting a time of 1:00.85 in the 100-yard butterfly.
Lindsey Wilson's first relay win of the day in the 200-yard medley featured Broersma, Motyl, de Goede, and Evreinoff. The latter of the four also provided a leg for the Blue Raiders' winning 400-yard freestyle relay alongside
Emma Julia Sofia Johansson,
Hannah Woyscheszik, and
Natalia Gorska.
Next Saturday, the Blue Raiders face one last tune-up before the postseason when they host the "Highway 55" Last Chance Invitational.
