BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Lindsey Wilson women's wrestling team competed at the Tornado Open Sunday hosted by King University (Tenn.).
Trinity Davis posted the best Blue Raider performance going 3-2 in the 138-pound bracket. Davis began her tournament with a second-period pin of Judea Higgins-Morris. She then dropped a 9-4 decision to Huntingdon's Tristan Robinson. Davis picked up a 10-0 tech fall over Dara Lin from Newberry in her first consolation match. She earned a 10-0 tech fall against Cumberlands' Brianna Merrifield. Her tournament came to an end dropping a 7-4 decision to Mount Olive's Angelica Steffy.
Rodiat Adeduntan earned a pair of wins wrestling unattached at 117 pounds. Adeduntan was pinned by Emory & Henry's Natalia Sancehez in her first match. She then picked up a 10-0 tech fall over teammate
Catherine Head and then won by injury default in her second consolation match. Sanchez once again pinned Adeduntan in the consolation semifinals.
Ta'Jai Broadnex posted a 1-2 performance at 138 pounds. Broadnex opened her tournament dropping a 3-0 decision to Campbellsville's Addison Messerly. In her first consolation match, she defeated Higgins Morris 10-0 before falling to Frostburg State's Trinity Butler.
The Blue Raiders are back in action for the Warrior Duals on Friday Jan. 24 hosted by Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
