FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 8-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's wrestling team went a perfect 5-0 at the Warrior Duals on Friday at Indiana Tech Warrior Park.
The Blue Raiders defeated Siena Heights (Mich.), NCAA Division III Hiram (Ohio), Rochester Christian (Mich.), No. 11 Ottawa (Kan.) and (RV) Brewton-Parker.
Lindsey Wilson 42 – Siena Heights 6
The Blue Raiders picked up four forfeits, three tech falls and two pins in the victory.
Alyssa Archer started the dual with a 10-0 tech fall over Cianelys Plaud at 103 pounds. Forfeits at 110, 117, and 124 pounds gave Lindsey Wilson a 19-0 advantage.
Abigail Vanderheyden picked up a 10-0 tech fall at 131 pounds while
Kori Campbell (No. 7 in NAIA at 138 pounds) earned a 13-2 tech fall at 138 pounds giving the Blue Raiders a 27-1 lead.
Josselinne Campos (No. 8 at 145 pounds) pinned Athena Colderon in just 15 seconds at 145 pounds. Siena Heights' lone victory of the match came by forfeit at 160 pounds. The Blue Raiders closed out the dual with a forfeit victory at 180 pounds and
Alyssa Pinkston pinning Aubrey Hunt in 42 seconds at 207 pounds.
Lindsey Wilson 49 – Hiram 0
Lindsey Wilson had seven forfeit victories, two pins and one tech fall in the win. Following a forfeit at 103 pounds,
Payton Agnell pinned Emma Bowers in 1:19 giving the Blue Raiders a 10-0 lead. After three-consecutive forfeits, Campbell pinned Erika Novak in the second period increasing the lead to 30-0. Three of the final four weights were forfeits with Campos earning a 10-0 tech fall at 160 pounds.
Lindsey Wilson 37 – Rochester Christian 7
Archer opened with a pin of Gabriela Hotaj in just 27 seconds at 103 pounds and
Reagan Thomas (No. 10 at 110 pounds) earned a 15-4 tech fall at 110 pounds giving the Blue Raiders a 9-1 lead. After a forfeit at 117 pounds,
Kamilah Brooks (No. 9 at 124 pounds) picked up a 12-4 decision over Madison Stirrett at 124 pounds increasing the lead to 17-2. Rochester's lone win came by pin at 131 pounds. Three of the final four matches were forfeits with Campos earning a pin at 145 pounds.
Lindsey Wilson 26 – Ottawa 22
The Blue Raiders led 5-0 after a forfeit at 103 pounds to open the dual. Ottawa tied the match when Aynsley Fink (No. 19 at 110 pounds) pinned Thomas at 110 pounds. Lindsey Wilson took a 13-6 lead with victories at 117 and 124 pounds.
Callie Payton (No. 12 at 117 pounds) pinned Shae Salinas in 28 seconds.
Sydney Bridenstine (No. 17 at 124 pounds) earned a 6-2 decision over Addison Saporito.
Emma Truex cut the Blue Raider lead to 13-11 with a pin over
Trinity Davis at 131 pounds. Back-to-back wins at 138 and 145 pounds increased the Lindsey Wilson lead to 21-12. Campbell picked up a 10-2 decision over Livia Swift (No. 14 at 138 pounds) while Campos pinned Kaydence Bonewell. Ottawa won at 160 pounds to make it 21-17 before
India Page (No. 3 at 180 pounds) clinched the win for the Blue Raiders with a pin. Ottawa won by pin at 207 pounds.
Lindsey Wilson 45 – Brewton-Parker 3
The match started with back-to-back pins from Archer and Thomas at 103 and 110 pounds, respectively. Brewton-Parker's lone win came at 117 pounds. Five of the final seven matches were won by forfeit. Vanderheyden and Campbell also picked up wins in the dual.
The Blue Raiders return to the mat Saturday morning for the Warrior Open.
