Women's Swimming Takes Last Chance Invite over Campbellsville

COLUMBIA, Ky. – On Saturday, the Lindsey Wilson women's swimming team defeated Campbellsville 74-15 in the Highway 55 Last Chance Invitational.

Maaike Broersma scored four victories, including two as an individual, and Nathalie Medina and Natalia Gorska collected two wins, apiece. In total, the Blue Raiders recorded 11 wins and 10 NAIA "B"-cut standards.

Broersma and Gorska each provided legs for Lindsey Wilson's winning relays. First, the duo joined Sara Motyl and Natascha Evreinoff to win the 200-yard medley, then later swam alongside Hannah Woyscheszik and Medina in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Gorska's individual win came in the 100-yard backstroke with a "B"-cut time of 1:00.54. She added an additional standard later on in the 200-yard freestyle where she placed runner-up to Medina, who earlier in the meet tallied another "B"-standard with a win in the 200-yard butterfly and a third to finish second in the 100-yard butterfly behind Kirsten de Goede, whose winning-performance in the 50-yard freestyle was good enough to meet "B"-cut standards.

As for Broersma, she claimed her solo wins in the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard backstroke, both with "B"-cut times.

Lindsey Wilson's last standard was earned by Motyl with her victory in the 100-yard breaststroke, and Julia Secanell logged the Blue Raiders' only other win in the 200-yard individual medley.

With Saturday's Last Chance Invitational in the books, the Blue Raiders turn their attention to the Mid-South Conference Championships on February 6-8 at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky.
