Men's Golf Wins Gibson Bay Invitational

RICHMOND, Ky.The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team finished first at  the Gibson Bay Invitational on Tuesday at Gibson Bay Golf Course.

The Blue Raiders were able to capture their first tournament crown of the year after carding an 8-over-par 872 (287-292-293) on the par-72, 7,-019-yard course. Lindsey Wilson was able to win by six strokes over Indiana Wesleyan. The Blue Raiders carded the second-most birdies with 43 and had the most pars with 161.

Lindsey Wilson was led by Stanley White, who finished in second after carding a 3-under par 213 (70-70-73). White finished his tournament with 13 birdies, which were the second-most in the field.  He finished tied for second in par 5s at -5 and was even-par on par 4s, which was tied for fourth-best.

Polakrit Pawichai finished in third after carding a 214 (72-70-72). Pawichai finished with the third-most pars in the tournament with 38.. He also carded nine birdies throughout his three rounds. Pawichai was one of only three players to be under-par on par 4s coming in at -1.
Philip Kittoff Jr. finished tied for 11th after carding a 222 (71-77-74). Kittoff Jr. finished with eight birdies in the tournament. Toby White finished tied for 21st place after carding a 225 (74-75-76). White finished with seven birdies, along with an eagle in the third round. Magnus Maahr finished tied for 38th after carding a 234 (79- 81-74). Maahr finished with six birdies in the tournament.

The Lindsey Wilson B team was also competing in the tournament and finished in fourth,  behind only Lindsey Wilson (A), Indiana Wesleyan, and Cumberlands (B). The Blue Raiders B team carded an 895 (290-295-310). James Gibb finished in 11th after carding a 222 (75-68-79), including recording seven birdies and an eagle. Gibb finished his tournament tied for second place in Par-5 scoring at -5

Charlie Jones finished tied for 15th  after carding a 223 (72-74-77), including registering ten birdies, which was tied for ninth most in the tournament. Also tied for 15th was Scott Newman, who carded a 223 (73-74-76). Newman recorded eight birdies throughout the tournament. 

Maciej Janusiewicz finished in 25th after carding a 229 (72-79-78). Janusiewicz finished his tournament with eight birdies. Arvid Olsson finished tied for 33rd  after carding a 232 (73-79-80). Olsson finished his tournament with six birdies, five of them occurring in his first round. Kole Rixon – competing as an individual - finished in 56th

The Blue Raiders return to the course for the Mid-South Conference Fall Preview, October 27-28 at Bowling Green Country Club in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
