RICHMOND, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team posted a third-place finish at the Gibson Bay Invitational on Tuesday at Gibson Bay Golf Course.
The Blue Raiders finished with an 88-over-par 952 (327-310-315) on the par-72 5,974-yard course. No. 11 Cumberlands (Ky.) took home the team title with a 923, while No. 17 Pikeville finished 12 shots behind. Lindsey Wilson carded the third-most birdies with 19 and had the fourth-most pars with 133.
Kayla Saunders posted the highest Lindsey Wilson finish with a 19-over par 235 (82-75-78). Saunders was tied for the sixth-most birdies with five, and was tied for fifth in par-5 scoring at +3.
Henaaz Khera (80-79-80), who competed as an individual,
Tara Laverty (80-78-71), and
Thanaporn Buakong (81-80-78) finished tied for 12th with a 239. Khera was tied for the second-best score on par 3s at +1. Laverty and Buakong were tied with Saunders on par 5 scoring at +3.
Holly Murphy finished tied for 16th, carding a 240 (85-77-78) and recording five birdies in the tournament.
Amanda Sitohang carded a 250 (84-81-85), tying for 24th, while
Kendall Hacker – competing as an individual – finished 40th.
The Blue Raiders return to action for the Roadrunner Women's Invitational, October 20-21, at Dalton Golf and Country Club in Dalton, Georgia.
