COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Blue Raider men's swimming team dropped its Saturday dual meet to Cumberlands (Ky.), 170-92.
Sergio Ybarra picked up two individual wins, reaching the wall first in the 1,000-yard freestyle by a margin of victory of 16.98 seconds. He collected his second win in the 500-yard freestyle with an NAIA provisional cut of 4:46.51.
Dan Spinola finished runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke with a provisional mark, then snuck past Cumberlands' Jeremiah Koenig to win the 200-yard breaststroke by 0.02 seconds.
In the 100-yard freestyle,
Lorenz Hof clocked a provisional standard – 47.74 seconds – to earn second place.
Sirhaan Mia narrowly missed out on a national cut of his own in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing second and 0.01 seconds off the NAIA's provisional time.
The men's 200-yard freestyle team of
Clinton Eales, Max van Schagan, Hof, and Mia closed the day with a runner-up effort.
Lindsey Wilson travels next to Elkhart, Indiana for a quad-dual against Bethel (Ind.), Hillsdale (Mich.), and North Central (Ill.) on Saturday, October 25.
