COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 10-ranked Lindsey Wilson football team welcomes (RV) Faulkner (Ala.) to Parnell Family Stadium for Homecoming on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CT at Parnell Family Stadium.
The Blue Raiders (6-1, 2-1 Mid-South Conference) are looking to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the season to Campbellsville (Ky.) 34-31 last week. Lindsey Wilson tallied 452 yards in the game and has now totaled over 400 yards in five games.
Tate Rice threw for a career-high 327 yards, completing 28 of his 41 passes for three touchdowns and had a pair of interceptions.
Max Gainey had 133 receiving yards, while
Khia Sherrard had 62 yards and a touchdown.
Seth Phillips caught a pair of touchdowns.
Davontaye Saunders ran for 125 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown. Defensively,
Cameron Rankins had a game-high eight tackles with two tackles for loss and a sack. Rankins also forced a fumble and had a pair of pass breakups.
Ronald Carr added seven tackles while
Kevin Wilson totaled six.
Lindsey Wilson enters play averaging 42.7 points per game, ranking 11th in the NAIA, and is 15th, averaging 442.9 yards per game. On the ground, the Blue Raiders rank 15th, averaging 196.7 yards a game. The Lindsey Wilson defense ranks 15th, allowing 17.7 points per game, and is tied for 19th in sacks with 17.
Saunders ranks third in the NAIA, averaging 135.3 rushing yards per game, and is fifth in touchdowns with 12. Sherrard's eight receiving touchdowns rank tied for sixth in the NAIA. Rankins leads the MSC with 54 tackles, while
Jamarques Franks ranks third with 41.
Darius Moore has the second-most sacks in the conference with four.
Faulkner (4-3, 1-2 MSC) defeated Cumberlands (Ky.) 36-35 in overtime last week. The win was the first MSC victory for the Eagles since 2022. Faulkner totaled 369 yards of offense in the victory and ran for 245. Duece Marshall completed six of his 17 passes for 106 yards and a touchdown and ran for 154 yards and four touchdowns. The Eagles average 25.7 points per game and allow 21.6. Faulkner is averaging 300.1 yards per game and is allowing 332.4.
Saturday's matchup is the 11th meeting between the two programs. Lindsey Wilson leads the all-time series 8-2 and has won the last seven matchups, including a 47-21 victory last season at Faulkner. The Blue Raiders are 6-0 all-time against the Eagles in Columbia.
