ELKHART, Ind. – The Blue Raider men's swimming team topped Bethel (Ind.) and North Central (Ill.) inside the Elkhart Aquatics Center on Saturday afternoon. Lindsey Wilson had eight swimmers capture wins along with being the top finishers in both relays.
The 200-medley relay team of
Dario Soria,
Dan Spinola,
Sirhaan Mia, and
Max van Schagen got the waves rolling to start the day. The quartet logged a winning time of 1:37.66.
Sergio Ybarra and
Dan Spinola led Lindey Wilson with a couple of wins, apiece. The latter of the two swept the 100 and 200-yard breaststrokes, with teammate
Adam Lamhiti placing second in both races. Ybarra coasted in the distance events, first winning the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:50.70, then clocking a provisional mark of 4:48.09 to clinch the 500-yard freestyle.
The Blue Raiders dominated the podium in the 100-yard freestyle, led by
Clinton Eales at 48.62, followed by van Schagen and
Lorenz Hof.
Van Schagen notched his individual win in the 50-yard freestyle as he posted a provisional cut of 21.72 seconds.
Soria and
Cameron Johnson earned a one-two finish in the 100-yard backstroke with times of 55.71 and 58.18, respectively, while Mia – 1:57.94 – and Ybarra – 2:01.95 – claimed the top two spots to take the 200-yard butterfly.
Jose Rivas won the 100-yard butterfly after touching the wall first at 52.28, and
Oliver Greaves bested the 400-yard individual medley – 4:18.73 – for Lindsey Wilson's last individual win of the meet.
Eales, Mia, van Schagen, and Hof closed out the day for the Blue Raiders with a victorious time of 1:27.96 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Lindsey Wilson returns home to host Campbellsville (Ky.) at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday, October 30 at the Holloway Natatorium.
