COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team coasted past Campbellsville (Ky.) 156-43 on Thursday evening at Holloway Natatorium. The Blue Raiders swept all 11 events and sealed three national cuts.
Dario Soria,
Dan Spinola,
Sirhaan Mia, and
Max van Schagen took the pool first to win the 200-yard medley relay at 1:37.70.
Sergio Ybarra claimed the first individual win for the home team, meeting NAIA provisional standards in the 1,650 freestyle (16:11.23). The sophomore then added another national mark of 4:42.70 to take the 500 freestyle.
Lorenz Hof clinched a pair of wins in the 100 and 200-yard freestyles. His time of 47.79 seconds in the shorter of the two races was good enough to hit national standards.
Max van Schagen continued Lindsey Wilson's dominance in the freestyle by sprinting to victory – 21.85 seconds -- in the 50-yarder.
Adam Lamhiti topped the field at 2:03.05 in the 200 individual medley,
Jose Rivas emerged first with a time of 2:02.47 to take the 200 butterfly, Soria got back to the wall at 1:59.88 to win the 200 backstroke, and Spinola won the 200 breaststroke at 2:10.22.
Akram Nejjar,
Oliver Greaves, Ybarra, and Hof wrapped up the night as a team to win the 800-yard freestyle relay with a mark of 7:15.35.
Lindsey Wilson travels to Wilmore, Kentucky at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, November 8 to take on Asbury (Ky.).
