DICKSON, Tenn. – The No. 1-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's golf team finished runner-up at the Music City Collegiate on Tuesday at GreyStone Golf Course.
Due to the weather, the tournament was shortened to 36 holes as the second round wrapped up earlier on Tuesday morning.
The 19-team tournament field featured 10 teams that are ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Preseason Poll. Lindsey Wilson carded a 14-under par 562 (281-281), finishing five shots behind No. 4 Dalton State (Ga.). No. 25 Northwestern Ohio finished third, carding a 565. The Blue Raiders tied for third in par-5 scoring at -13 and was one of three teams to record multiple eagles over the two rounds.
Toby White posted the highest Lindsey Wilson finish, tied for seventh with a 5-under par 139 (69-70). White carded an eagle in the second round and finished the tournament with eight birdies. He finished -5 on par fives, which was tied for the fifth most in the field.
Stanley White finished tied for 10th with a 140 (71-69). In two rounds, White carded nine birdies with four coming in the final round. He was tied for the second-best scoring average on par 4s at 3.9, and his nine birdies were tied for ninth.
Polakrit Pawachai carded a 142 (69-73), finishing tied for 21st. Pawachai finished tied for sixth in par-4 scoring at -1. Magnus Mahar tied for 29th after carding a 144 (72-72) and led the tournament in pars with 29.
Philip Kitoff Jr. tied for 37th with a 145 (75-70) while
James Gibb – competing as an individual – tied for 47th carding a 146 (72-74).
The Blue Raiders are back in action for the first day of the Gibson Bay Invitational on October 13 at Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond, Kentucky.
