GAMBIER, Ohio – The Blue Raider women's swimming team compiled nine NAIA national cuts on day two of the Total Performance Invitational, hosted by Kenyon College (Ohio), on Friday.
Kirsten de Goede recorded her second automatic cut of the week as she placed runner-up in the 200 freestyle at 1:49.35.
Hannah Woyscheszik (20
th; 2:00.27) and
Alejandra Martinez (38
th; 2:00.57) locked up provisional marks in the same event.
In the 100 backstroke,
Natalia Gorska led a quartet of national standards for Lindsey Wilson, finishing eighth with a time of 57.05, along with
Ela Cippico (15
th; 58.22), Woyscheszik (35
th; 1:00.53), and Emma Johannson (40
th; 1:01.36).
Emma Verkuijl posted a provisional time of 58.85 seconds in the 100 butterfly, and
Sara Motyl hit the wall at 1:05.80 in the 100 breaststroke to make an NAIA standard of her own.
Lindsey Wilson's first relay of the evening, the 200 medley, came in sixth place at 1:45.39 and was comprised of Cippico, Motyl, de Goede, and Gorska.
The session's final event, the 800 freestyle relay, saw the Blue Raider team of
Nathalie Medina, Woyscheszik, Gorska, and de Goede burn 15.62 seconds off their preliminary time to place seventh.
After two days of competition, Lindsey Wilson remains in seventh place with 406 points.
Day three of the Total Performance Invitational includes the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 1,650 freestyle, and 400 freestyle relay, and begins at 9 a.m. CT.
