GAMBIER, Ohio – On the final day of competition at the Total Performance Invitational, hosted by Kenyon College (Ohio), the Blue Raider women's swimming team notched eight national cuts and placed seventh overall in the field of NCAA Division III opponents.
Kirsten de Goede clocked another NAIA "A"-cut and her third runner-up finish in the 100 freestyle, touching the wall at 50.42 seconds.
Natalia Gorska (16
th; 52.70),
Ela Cippico (30
th; 54.27), and
Alejandra Martinez (38
th; 55.02) also met provisional standards in the event.
Nathalie Medina posted a pair of national cuts, first in the 200 butterfly (2:09.45) with
Sara Motyl (17
th; 2:10.24), then in the 1,650 freestyle where she placed seventh at 17:38.53.
In the 200 backstroke,
Hannah Woyscheszik logged a 2:12.10 to place 28
th.
Lindsey Wilson's lone relay of the day, the 400 freestyle, finished in eighth place with a team of Gorska, Woyscheszik, Cippico, and de Goede. The quartet cut 13.24 seconds of their preliminary time to record a new season-best of 3:31.33.
The Blue Raiders wrap up their fall semester and will return to action on Saturday, January 17 when they host Tennessee Southern at the Holloway Natatorium.
