No.24 Women’s Hoop Hosts No.15 Oregon Tech in Top-25 Match-up

COLUMBIA, Ky.- Women's Basketball laces up to host No.15-ranked Oregon Tech at 4 P.M. CT in Biggers Sports Center Monday evening.

Lindsey Wilson improved to 6-2 on the season after a 69-64 win over Brescia (Ky.) Saturday afternoon. Meadow Tisdale and Saniyah Shelton lead the offense for LWU averaging 14.8 and 10.3 points, respectively. Shelton also leads the team in rebounding with 7.9 a game, while Tisidale contributes 7.8. Amelia Hodges and Taylor Guess round out the offense with 9.3 and 9.1 points and outing, respectively. 

On the season, the Blue Raiders are averaging 75.0 points a contest on 41.5 percent shooting from the field and 73.1 percent from the charity stripe. Lindsey Wilson has outrebounded every opponent it has faced, yielding a +10.5 rebounding margin. Impressively, 16.1 of the 42.7 rebounds that the Blue Raiders tally each game are classified as offensive. 

Oregon Tech fell to 3-2 on the season after Mid-South Conference foes Cumberlands (Ky.) and Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) put an end to its three-game win streak with an 85-67 defeat and a 68-51 loss, respectively. Tatum Schmerbach, Olivia Sprague, Brooke Anderson, and Jozie Ramos lead the Owls offensive brigade with 18.8, 15.0, 12.2, and 10.0 points per game, respectively. Schmerbach also leads on the glass with 8.0 boards a contest. 

The Owls are posting 79.2 points a night on 45.2 percent from the field and 72.0 percent from the foul line. Oregon Tech is forcing 20.6 turnovers and converting for an average of 17.2 points off of turnovers. 

Tonight's match-up marks the first meeting between the Owls and Blue Raiders. Lindsey Wilson enters the contest ranked No.24, while Oregon Tech sits at No.15 in the First Regular Season Top-25 Coaches' Poll. 

Women's basketball will tip off against Oregon Tech at 4 P.M. CT followed by the men's basketball team at 6 P.M. CT facing Midway (Ky.) inside Biggers Sports Center.
