No.24 Women’s Basketball Heads to Georgia

COLUMBIA, Ky.- Women's basketball ends their three-game road stretch in Lawrenceville, Georgia to face the Grizzlies of Georgia Gwinnett at 6 P.M. CT inside The Convocation Center. 

No.24-ranked Lindsey Wilson is 3-0 to begin the season after defeating two teams in two days that were ranked as receiving votes in the Preseason NAIA Top-25 Coaches' Poll. A 72-56 win on October 31 over (RV) Huntington (Ind.) marks the Blue Raiders last competition. Meadow Tisdale leads the offensive brigade averaging 15.7 points and 8.0 rebounds. Amelia Hodges adds 12.7 points to the mix and sits at an astonishing 71.4 percent from behind the arc, 100 percent from the charity stripe, and 10 points shy of joining the Lindsey Wilson 1,000 point club. Taylor Guess rounds out the double-digit scoring with 11.3 ppg, shooting 12-for-20 from the field. 

As a team, women's hoops is averaging 86.0 points a game, holding opponents to just 57.7. LWU is shooting 71.4 percent from the line and shooting at least 15 free throws a game. Tisdale's eight rebounds a game aids in the Blue Raiders ability to out-rebound opponents 38.3 to 30.0, eliminating offensive boards and second-chance scoring opportunities. 

Georgia Gwinnett began its very first women's basketball season in program history on a five game homestand, sitting at 3-1 before the match-up with the Blue Raiders. Christen Collins, Peyton Hearvey, and Jamya Griffin run the offense for the Grizzlies with 13.0, 11.8, and 10.3 points per game, respectively. Maddie Presha owns the glass with 7.5 rebounds per game, followed by Hearvey with 6.3. 

In the Grizzlies' first couple of competitions, they have outscored opponents 276 to 190, averaging 69.0 points per game, while limiting other teams to 47.5. 28.0 of those points come from turnovers as the Grizzlies defense is forcing 27.5 turnovers a game. Georgia Gwinnett attacks the glass, pulling 47.0 rebounds per game with at least 17.0 being offensive. 

This will be the first meeting between the two programs, with the Blue Raiders entering the match 3-0 and the Grizzlies enter the match 3-1. 

Tip-off will occur at 6 P.M. CT against Georgia Gwinnett at The Convocation Center.
