WILMORE, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team posted eight individual wins en route to a 166-66 dual win over Asbury (Ky.) at the Luce Center Pool on Saturday.
The Blue Raiders opened the meet by taking the 200 medley relay at 1:37.39.
Azahn Hicks,
Dan Spinola,
Sirhaan Mia, and
Max van Schagen teamed up for the victory.
Individually,
Adam Lamhiti grabbed the top spot in the 200 breaststroke (2:18.00) and 200 individual medley (2:02.47), the latter of which came with a season-best time.
Sergio Ybarra met NAIA provisional standards to win the 500 freestyle at 4:46.96. The sophomore also added a win of 1:59.22 in the 200 butterfly.
Additional Lindsey Wilson winners on the day included
Akram Nejjar besting the field in the 200 freestyle (1:49.87),
Cameron Johnson getting back to the wall first at 2:13.71 to claim the 200 backstroke, van Schagen sprinting to victory in 22.05 seconds in the 50 freestyle, and Spinola edging out teammate
Clinton Eales by 0.21 seconds in the 100 breaststroke.
Eales did come back later on to lead off the Blue Raiders triumphant 200 freestyle relay with Mia, van Schagen, and
Lorenz Hof.
Lindsey Wilson closes its fall semester on November 20-22 at the Total Performance Invitational, hosted by Kenyon College (Ohio), in Gambier, Ohio.
