ADRIAN, Mich. – The Lindsey Wilson women's wrestling team finished fifth at the Adrian Invite on Sunday.
The Blue Raiders tallied 184 points to place fifth and had one individual champion, one runner-up and seven other top-eight finishers. North Central finished first while Presbyterian finished runner-up.
Emma Beauknight took home the title in the 110-pound B bracket advanced to the finals of the going 5-0 with four tech falls and a pin. Beauknight began her tournament with a 10-0 tech fall of Indiana Tech's Izabella Hall. She advanced to the quarterfinals with her second tech fall 12-0 against Mia Sharp of Alma. Beauknight needed just 50 seconds to advance to the semifinals with a pin of Katelyn Bell of Aurora. She earned an 11-0 tech fall over Emma Cabinian from McKendree in the semifinals. In the finals, Beauknight earned a 10-0 tech fall over Eliana Paramo of North Central.
Grace Lashinsky (No. 16 at 117 pounds) finished runner-up in the 117-pound A bracket. Lashinsky started her tournament with back-to-back 10-0 tech falls over Bella Bolek of North Central and Presbyterian's Jenna Anderson. In the quarterfinals, she pinned Delaware State's Icart Galumette. Lashinsky advanced to the finals with a pin of Adrian's Carleigh Czerneski (No. 6 in the NCAA at 117 pounds). She was defeated 12-2 in the finals by Libby Roberts of Grand Valley State.
Kalliscya Gardner finished fourth in the 117-pound A bracket. She eanred a 10-0 tech fall of Charlize Shuler of Presbyterian and then pinned Campbellsville's Addison Rudolph. She fell in the quarterfinals 12-2 North Central's Mikayla Garcia. She then advanced to the third-place match with two pins and a medical forfeit. Garcia defeated Gardner 12-0 in the third-place match.
Aenaya Vines finished fourth in the 138-pound B bracket. She pinned Jacey Kuntz of Schreiner in just 37 seconds in her first match. Vines lost 12-2 in the quarterfinals to Manchester's Katy Vardaman. She then earned a 13-2 tech fall over Carthage's Alexis Hozeska and a 10-4 decision over Trinity Butler of Frostburg State. She was pinned by Elizabeth Donovan of Presbyterian in the third-place match.
Sklyer Randolph placed fifth in the 103-pound B bracket. She was defeated 12-1 before rattling off four victories in the consolation rounds with three pins. Randolph pinned Ottebein's Selah Gitonga in her first consolation match and Carthage's Crystal Gutierrez in just 27 seconds. She then pinned Brock's Ellysa Oystrick in 37 seconds and advanced to the consolation semifinals with a 10-0 tech fall over Alma's Ava Pike. Randolph dropped a 13-6 decision to Jackelyn Sanchez of Schreiner. In the fifth-place match, she pinned John Carroll's Taylor MacAdam in 1:38.
Havana Hampl finished sixth in the 110-pound A bracket. She began her tournament with a 10-0 tech fall over Gannon's Brenna Mccarley. Hampl then dropped a 6-4 decision to Slone Kruger of Presbyterian in the quarterfinals. She defeated Jazlynn Golder of Trine 10-2 in her first consolation match and earned an 8-6 decision over Schreiner's Natalia Morales. Hampl lost to Keelani Shufeldt 10-0 in the consolation semifinals. Hampl medically forfeited in the fifth-place match.
Kamilah Brooks (No. 6 at 124 pounds) placed sixth in the 124-pound A bracket. She earned a 5-1 decision over Sacred Heart's Lauren Nguyen in the first round. She then picked up a 7-3 decision over Morgan Leonhardt from Otterbein. Brooks advanced to the semifinals with a 6-1 decision over Grand Valley State's Miriam Hopson. She was defeated by Grand Valley State's Aspen Blasko (No. 3 in NCAA at 124 pounds). She fell to Annesley Day of Tiffin in fifth-place match.
Jelia Ramos finished sixth in the 131-pound A bracket. Ramos earned a 13-2 tech fall over Yele Aycock of North Central in her first match. Ramos dropped a 16-13 decision to Alexandra Szkontnicki of McKendree in the second round. She then rattled off four consecutive wins in the consolation rounds with three tech falls and a pin. She medically forfeited in the fifth-place match.
Audrey Smith finished seventh in the 117-pound B bracket. Smith began her day with a pin of Zoee Sadler of Aurora before dropping a 15-11 decision to North Central's Nadia Thomas. Smith won her first consolation match 10-0 over Anastasia Smith of Indiana Tech before falling to Sadler 10-0. She earned a 4-1 decision over Gannon's Isabella McNutt in the seventh-place match.
The Blue Raiders are back in action for the Lindenwood University Duals on November 16 in Lindenwood, Missouri
