MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Lindsey Wilson men's track and field team finished eighth at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational Saturday at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
The Blue Raiders tallied 35 points to place eighth in the 29-team field comprised of NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA schools. Lindsey Wilson broke one school record and earned three NAIA B standards over the three-day event.
Isabel Urrutia Lemus broke the school record in the 100-meter hurdles. Urrutia Lemus broke the school record in the prelims with a time of 14.47 seconds while finishing fourth. She once again broke the school record in the finals with a time of 14.23 earning a B standard and a third-place finish.
The quartet of
Hannah Reid,
Kayly Guthrie,
Kyra Engel and
Jermani Morris earned a B standard in the 4x100-meter relay finishing in third with a time of 47.03.
Jozlen Brisbon, Urrutia Lemus,
Deloris Boateng, and
Anna Grasse finished 10th in 49.40.
Rosemond Owusu earned a B standard in the high jump with a distance of 1.68 meters and earned a 10th-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.15 meters.
Lindsey Wilson had a pair of top-five finishers in the 100 meter. Guthrie finished fourth with a time of 11.91 while Reid posted a fifth-place finish in 11.96. Reid also finished seventh in the 200 meter with a time of 24.77.
Alejandra Formoso finished fourth in the 800 meter finishing with a time of 2:31.54.
Sancia Smith earned a sixth-place finish in the 400 meter with a time of 1:03.49.
Reagan Cheatham finished third in the shot put with a throw of 12.45 meters and placed 14th in the hammer throw with a distance of 40.73 meters.
The Blue Raiders are back in action on Friday when they host the Blue Raider Rumble at Parnell Family Stadium.
