COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's tennis teams continue Mid-South Conference play today at 3 p.m. CT on Thursday, March 27, as they face Cumberland (Tenn.) at the Tommy Gray Memorial Courts.
The Blue Raider men (8-3) enter the matchup ranked No. 5 in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll and are coming off a strong stretch of performances. They face a Cumberland squad that holds a 9-6 record this season and is ranked No. 12 in the nation. The Phoenix last competed against Georgetown (Ky.), earning a 6-1 victory on the road. The last time these two teams met was in last season's MSC Tournament semifinals, where Cumberland claimed a 5-2 win over Lindsey Wilson in Bowling Green, Ky. Historically, the Blue Raiders lead the all-time series with a 21-10 record.
On the women's side, No. 3 Lindsey Wilson (9-2) takes on a No. 25-ranked Cumberland team that holds a 7-6 record this season. The Phoenix also enter the match following a dominant 7-0 win over Georgetown. The Blue Raiders won the most recent meeting between the programs, securing a 6-1 victory last April in Columbia, Ky. Lindsey Wilson has historically controlled the series, leading 24-4 in all-time matchups.
