Women’s Track & Field Finishes Second at Blue Raider Rumble

COLUMBIA, Kentucky – The Lindsey Wilson women's outdoor track and field team secured a second-place finish at the Blue Raider Rumble on Friday at Parnell Family Stadium. 


Nyla Railey came out with a victory in the 200-meter, finishing in 26.23 seconds. Charm Rone set the tone in the 400-meter hurdles, taking first place with a time of 1:15.83. Elaina Holliday also made an impact, winning the long jump with a leap of 5.36 meters. Reagan Cheatham showcased her talent with first-place finishes in both the hammer throw 41.25 meters and shot put 12.25 meters 

Jozlen Brisbon earned an NAIA 'B' standard in the 100-meter, placing second with a time of 11.83, the same time as third-place finisher Jermani Morris, who also hit the 'B' standard. Kyra Engel, Railey, and Deloris Boateng finished fourth, fifth, and seventh in the event, with times of 12.15, 12.32, and 12.54. 

In the 200-meter, Anna Grasse finished in third place with a time of 26.93 seconds. Hailey Hill came in fourth with a time of 27.89 seconds. 

The 400-meter saw strong performances from Ta'shya Cramer and Alisha Claycomb, who placed second and third with times of 59.82 and 1:04.73. 

 Alejandra Formoso finished third in the 1500-meter with a time of 5:24.61, while Zoe Wilson was third in the 5000-meter, finishing in 24:23.71. Paula Martin-López finished eighth in the 800-meter with a time of 2:57.80.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Isabel Urrutia Lemus finished third with a time of 33.62 seconds. Alexis Hale competed in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing second behind Rone with a time of 1:19.46. 

The women's 4x100-meter relay team, consisting of Hannah Reid, Kayly Guthrie, Morris, and Brisbon, earned a first-place finish with a time of 47.69 seconds. Boateng, Ophiellia Bernard, Grasse, and Mayatu Brown finished second in the event, with a time of 49.56 seconds.

In the long jump, Rone and Destiny Barnes finished second and fifth, jumping 5.19 meters and 4.90 meters, respectively. Nevaeh Acklin had a strong showing with two top-10 finishes, placing fourth in the discus with a throw of 33.34 meters and eighth in the hammer throw with a distance of 32.11 meters. 

The Blue Raiders will be back in action for the Centre Invitational in Danville, Kentucky April 4th at Andy Frye Stadium
