COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson student-athlete
Hallie Roberts is the Mid-South Conference softball Pitcher of the Week, league officials announced Monday.
The freshman earns the weekly honor for the second time this season after being recognized for the first time on March 17.
Last week, the Blue Raiders hosted Cumberland (Tenn.) in their regular season finale. Roberts started game two of the series and fired her third career complete-game shutout while allowing only three hits and striking out six. She held the Phoenix without a hit until the fourth inning and never gave up more than one hit in an inning.
Roberts then made a brief relief appearance for Lindsey Wilson in game three. She checked into the circle in the seventh inning and recorded the last three outs without surrendering any runs or hits.
As the Mid-South tournament nears, Roberts ranks fourth in the conference for total strikeouts with 68.
Hallie and her Blue Raider teammates begin their postseason at 11 a.m. CST on Thursday, May 1 against Cumberland in Clarksville, Tennessee.
