COLUMBIA, Ky. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of American announced its individual postseason awards for the 2024-25 NAIA season, naming Lindsey Wilson's
Maaike Broersma women's Swimmer of the Year, and
Alicia Kemnitz women's Head Coach of the Year.
For Broersma, the graduate senior garners yearly honors for the second consecutive season after capturing four gold medals at the NAIA National Championships in March. She made headlines by topping the field in the 100 and 200-yard backstrokes, as well as the 50-yard freestyle, then teamed up with
Kirsten de Goede,
Natascha Evreinoff, and
Natalia Gorska to win the school's first ever national title in a relay in the 200-yard freestyle.
Broersma was voted the NAIA's women's Swimmer of the Year for her performance, another award which she has received in back-to-back seasons.
Kemnitz adds this latest accolade to a decorated 15
th season at the helm of the Blue Raiders' women's swimming program. She was also selected as the Mid-South Conference and NAIA women's Head Coach of the Year, the latter of which being the first of her career.
Kemnitz guided Lindsey Wilson to its highest ever finish at the NAIA National Championships as the Blue Raiders surged on the final day of competition to take third place with 351 team points.
She became the sixth different Lindsey Wilson head coach across all sports to earn NAIA National Head Coach of the Year status and the first since the 2020-21 season.
In addition to the unveiling of individual awards, the CSCAA released its All-America honors, as well. Broersma, de Goede, Evreinoff, Gorska,
Nathalie Medina, and
Sara Motyl were each named from the women's team, while
Ethan Butler,
Clinton Eales,
Fabio Martin Rojo,
Dan Spinola,
Dario Soria,
Max van Schagen, and
Sergio Ybarra represented on the men's side.
