Women’s Golf Ninth After Second Round of NAIA National Championship

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team sits in ninth place following the second round of the NAIA National Championship Wednesday at the Eagle Crest Golf Club.

The Blue Raiders moved up four spots in the second round after carding a 16-over par 304 on the par 72 5,885-yard course. Through two rounds, Lindsey Wilson is +44 with a 620 after shooting a 316 in round one. As a team, the Blue Raiders are tied for the third-most birdies in the tournament with 20.

Butpapaporn Sukterm moved up five spots to fourth after recording a 3-under 69 bringing her to an even-par total of 144 after a 75 on Tuesday. Sukterm is six shots behind off the leaders Jessica Ng from British Columbia. In the round, she recorded five birdies. Sukterm is tied for the fourth-most birdies in the tournament with seven and is tied for the tournament lead in par-3 scoring at -2.

Pitchayapa Pungpho is tied for 22nd after the first two rounds with an 8-over par 152 (77-75). Pungpho carded four birdies in the second round and tallied 10 pars. She is tied for the fourth-most birdies in the tournament with seven and is -2 on par 3.

Tara Laverty (80-83) and Holly Murphy (86-77) are tied for 92nd with 163. Murphy's 77 in round two moved her up 25 spots on the leaderboard. Kayla Saunders rounds out the Blue Raider scoring with a 167 (84-83).

The Blue Raiders return to the course for the third round of the NAIA National Championship on Wednesday at Eagle Crest Golf Club.
