COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson men's tennis duo
Hans Schubert and
Santiago Passoni were tabbed NAIA Second-Team All-Americans, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Friday.
It is the second time in the last four years that multiple players have represented the Blue Raiders on the All-America Teams and the first career selection for both men.
Schubert, the Mid-South men's Player of the Year, recovered from a slow start to the season to finish 10-4 on a 10-match win streak. Eight of his victories came as straight-set decisions, while four were recorded over ranked opponents. Schubert is rated 24
th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's last singles poll of the 2024-25 campaign after starting the season unranked.
Passoni, the Mid-South men's Freshman of the Year, closed the year with 15 consecutive wins in singles play to earn a 15-2 record. He rolled through 14 straight without losing a set and picked up five triumphs against top-40 opponents in the process.
As a doubles duo, Schubert and Passoni ended the season ranked 10
th in the ITA's final poll. They went 10-6 from the number one doubles position and won both of their bouts during the Mid-South Conference tournament to push Lindsey Wilson to its 18
th championship in program history.
