COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson women's swimming team turned in a historically successful season during the 2024-25 campaign. 

At the NAIA National Championships, the Blue Raiders secured a third-place finish, their best all-time performance. Graduate senior Maaike Broersma repeated as national champion in her three individual events and Kirsten de Goede captured two gold medals with NAIA national record times. The pair then teamed up with Natalia Gorska and Natascha Evreinoff to win the 200-yard freestyle relay and the program's first national championship in relays. 

For their efforts, Broersma was tabbed NAIA Women's Swimmer of the Year, while Alicia Kemnitz earned Women's Head Coach of the Year honors for the first time in her career.

At the Mid-South Conference Championships, Lindsey Wilson tallied a program-high 619 points and 18 all-conference finishes. The Blue Raiders also swept all five relays and set new championship meet records for all five races in the process.

Broersma and de Goede were named conference Co-Swimmers of the Year, Kemnitz and assistant coach Annissa Koekemoer swept the coaching honors, and Nathalie Medina claimed Freshman of the Year status.

All told, the Blue Raiders won nine of their 12 dual meets during the season.
