COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Blue Raider women's swimming team closed the opening weekend of the 2025-26 season on Saturday with a second-place finish in the Dr. Dillery Fall Frenzy.
Lindsey Wilson picked up seven wins on the day, including all three relays.
Natalia Gorska completed a perfect weekend with individual wins in the 100 and 200-yard backstrokes. Her win in the shorter of the two events – 59.65 seconds – met NAIA provisional standards, while her 200-yard victory came with a personal-best time of 2:13.15. Gorska also anchored each of Lindsey Wilson winning relays.
Nathalie Medina dominated the day's freestyle races, first winning the 200-yard race in the morning with a provisional time, then coasting in the 1,650-yard race to win by 1:01.12 with another provisional mark. Her third win came late in the afternoon in the 200-yard butterfly where she touched the wall first at 2:14.35 – another NAIA provisional standard.
As for relays, Lindsey Wilson captured the 200-yard medley, plus the 400 and 800-yard freestyles.
Sara Motyl and
Emma Verkuijl swam the medley,
Hannah Woyscheszik provided a leg in both freestyles, and Emma Julia Sofia Johnansson and Medina contributed in the 400 and 800-yard races, respectively.
Ela Cippico joined Gorska as part of all three relays.
Elsewhere, individually, Motyl placed third in the 200-yard breaststroke and Woyscheszik earned third in the 100-yard backstroke.
Lindsey Wilson is back in action at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, October 18 to host Cumberlands (Ky.).
