Women’s Hoops to Host Freed-Hardeman and Bethel on Thursday and Saturday

COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Blue Raider women's basketball team is set to host the No.5-ranked Lions of Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) on Thursday at 5:30 P.M. CT and the No.2-ranked Wildcats of Bethel (Tenn.) on Saturday at 1 P.M. CT in Biggers Sports Center. 

Lindsey Wilson (14-3, 1-1 Mid-South Conference) picked up its most recent win on Saturday against Cumberland (Tenn.), 97-74. Saniyah Shelton and Taylor Guess lead the offensive brigade in MSC play, averaging 12 and 10 points per game, respectively. Guess and Shelton both are shooting 80 percent from the charity stripe. Shelton also leads the team in assists with 6.5 a night as well as rebounding with 5.5 a contest, while Guess is shooting 75.0 percent from the floor. 

In conference play, the Blue Raiders are tallying 75.0 points a game while allowing 78.5. Lindsey Wilson is averaging 30.5 boards and 14.5 steals per game. 

Freed-Hardeman sits at a perfect 17-0 and 2-0 in MSC play. FHU picked up its most recent win against the now No.14-ranked Cumberlands (Ky.) 82-73 in Henderson, Tennessee, last Saturday. In conference play, Lilly Kee heads the offense, posting 20.5 points a night, alongside 6 boards a contest. Rachel Satterly adds 15.5 points on 75.0 percent from the free throw line, while Ally Weathers averages 15.0 ppg on 64.3 percent from the field. Jenna Satterly rounds out the double-figure scoring with 14.5 points a night on 80.0 percent shooting from behind the arc. 

The Lions are outscoring their opponents 79.0 to 73.5 points a contest. FHU has tallied 26.5 boards a night, but has allowed its opponents 34.5. LWU leads the all-time series 8-7, with a 3-2 record at home. The last matchup between the two programs occurred on March 1, 2025 in the quarterfinals of the MSC tournament where FHU took the 48-46 decision after outscoring the Blue Raiders 13-6 in the final ten minutes of action. 

Bethel holds a 17-1 record with its only loss coming against the University of Tennessee Southern in an 84-78 road meeting decision. The Wildcats' most recent win came on Saturday against the now (RV) Tigers of Georgetown (Ky.), yielding an 81-61 final. During MSC play, Micah Hart controls the offense posting 26 points a night on 50.0 percent shooting from the floor, 58.3 percent from three, and 100 percent from the free throw line. Mikee Buchanan and MJ Simmons round out the double-figure scoring with 18 points and 11 ppg, respectively. 

The Wildcats are posting 77 points an outing while holding their opponents to 64 points. Bethel is pulling 34.5 boards a night while tallying 13.5 assists as well as 5.0 assists. The Wildcats lead the all-time series 10-6, with the Blue Raiders losing the last two matchups. The last meeting occurred on February 1, 2025 when Bethel took an 80-72 victory in Columbia, Ky.

Women's hoops will tipoff against Freed-Hardeman at 5:30 P.M. CT on Thursday and will welcome Bethel on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. CT inside Biggers Sports Center. Live stats and video will be available on the Lindsey Wilson Sports Network.
