Blue Raiders Continue Strong at Vanderbilt Invitational

Nashville, TN.- The Lindsey Wilson indoor track and field teams continued their strong showing on Saturday at the second day of the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee.

On the women's side, Selena Johnson set a new school record in the triple jump with a mark of 11.94 meters setting an NAIA "A" standard, while Rosemond Owusu tied her own school record in the high jump at 1.68 meters setting the NAIA "B" standard. In the first round of the 60-meter,  freshman Promise Amasiatu finished with a time of 7.61 seconds, advancing to the semifinals and earning a "B" standard. Amasiatu posted the third-fastest time in the semifinals finishing in 7.52 earning an "A" standard.

For the men, Lorenzo Luces reached 14.44 meters in the triple jump, meeting the NAIA "B" standard. Cambell Rawlings ran 6.81 seconds in the 60-meter final.

The men's 4x400 relay team of Daniel Otibo, Royce Mentor, Enric Fernandez, and Miah Chatmond finished sixth in the final with a time of 3:15.77, highlighting the Blue Raiders' continued depth in the sprint events and notching an NAIA "B" standard.

The Blue Raiders will continue competition on Saturday, January 24, at the Centre Indoor Showcase in Danville, Kentucky.
