LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson indoor track and field teams posted strong performances on the first day of the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.
On the men's side, sophomore
Daniel Otibo had a standout day. He ran a personal best of 21.66 seconds in the 200 meters and followed with 48.11 seconds in the 400 meters, meeting the NAIA 'B' standard and setting a new season-best.
Senior
Tyler Colvin earned a top-eight finish in the 3,000 meters, running a personal best of 8:48.19 to place seventh.
On the women's side, freshman
Promise Amasiatu led the Blue Raiders in the sprints, finishing third in the 200 meters with a time of 24.50 seconds, meeting the NAIA 'A' standard and moving her to No. 3 nationally.
Hannah Reid added a top-eight finish, placing eighth in the 200 meters at 24.76, meeting the NAIA 'B' standard and ranking No. 7 in the NAIA.
In the long jump, sophomore
Rosemond Owusu recorded a personal best of 5.57 meters to place third, ranking No. 25 nationally.
The Blue Raiders will continue competition tomorrow as day two of the meet wraps up.
