COLUMBIA, Ky. - The No. 16-ranked Lindsey Wilson football team wraps up non-conference play on Saturday with a trip to Blakely, Georgia to take on Andrew (Ga.) at 2 p.m. CT at Standifer Field.
The Blue Raiders (5-2) were last in action on October 10 falling to Georgetown (Ky.) 24-21 in overtime. Lindsey Wilson limited the Tigers to just 65 rushing yards. It was the fourth time this season the Blue Raiders have held an opponent to under 100 yards on the ground.
Davontaye Saunders scored three total touchdowns to set the program record for total career touchdowns with 49.
Lindsey Wilson ranks 19th in the NAIA scoring 38.9 points per game and 15th allowing 17.3.The Blue Raiders rank 13th in yards allowed per game (280.9) and in rushing yards allowed per game with 100.6.
Saunders is just two rushing touchdowns away from breaking the career program record. His 16 rushing touchdowns this season lead the NAIA and his 146.3 yards per game rank third.
Max Gainey needs 167 receiving yards and three touchdowns to break single-season program records. Gainey's 11 touchdowns are tied for the second-most in the NAIA, while his 110.4 yards per game are 10th.
Andrew (0-7) enters play coming off a 46-21 loss to Faulkner last week. The Fighting Tigers tallied 257 yards with 208 coming through the air. Nick Commisso completed 12 of his 24 passes for 180 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Jerry Bolton caught two passes for 81 yards and had two touchdowns. Kody Sudduth led the Andrew defense with eight tackles, while Shawn Baker had an interception.
Entering play, the Fighting Tigers average just 13.3 points per game and allow 45.1. Andrew averages 184.9 yards per game and allows 358.9.
Saturday's matchup is the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
