COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team opens play at the ITA NAIA National Team Indoor Championships on Friday at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia.
The Blue Raiders earned the No. 5 seed and open the three-day, eight-team tournament against fourth-seeded Tennessee Wesleyan at 1 p.m. CT. Keiser (Fla.) is the top seed, Georgia Gwinnett is seeded second, Southeastern (Fla.) earned the three seed, Holy Cross (Ind.) is seeded sixth, Cumberlands (Ky.) is seventh, and Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) is the No. 8 seed.
Last season, Lindsey Wilson finished seventh, defeating Middle Georgia State 4-0. Lindsey Wilson opened its season on January 31 with a 7-0 victory on the road at NCAA Division II Kentucky Wesleyan.
Last season, Tennessee Wesleyan went 16-3, reaching the semifinals of the NAIA National Tournament. The Bulldogs are 1-1 this season, having defeated Cumberlands on January 30 and falling 4-3 to Emory (Ga.) on Monday.
Friday's matchup is the seventh meeting between the two schools. Each team has three wins in the series. Tennessee Wesleyan has won the last three matchups, including a 4-0 victory at last year's Indoor National Championship.
