COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson student-athlete Adrian Ayala has been selected as the Mid-South Conference Men's Wrestler of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.

Ayala, of Naples, Florida, earns his second career weekly honors and second this season after going 3-0 and capturing the 141-pound title at the MSC Championship. Ayala also earned MSC Men's Wrestler of the Week honors back on November 10.

Two of his three wins at the MSC Championship were against wrestlers ranked in the top six at 141 pounds. Ayala opened his tournament with a 15-0 tech fall over Lucas Hall of Midway (Ky.). He then defeated Campbellsville's (Ky.) Nick Moore (No. 6 at 141) 6-0. Ayala captured the title with a 7-4 decision over Cumberland's (Tenn.) Sammy Shires (No. 2 at 141). He was named the Deno White MSC Wrestler of the Tournament for his performance.
 
Ayala now turns his attention to the NAIA National Championship beginning on March 5 in Park City, Kansas.
