No. 13 Women’s Basketball Celebrates Senior Night Thursday vs. (RV) Georgetown, Wraps Season at No. 21 Cumberlands Saturday

COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Blue Raider women's basketball team is set to host (RV) Georgetown (Ky.) on Thursday in Biggers Sports Center at 5:30 P.M. CT on senior night. Women's basketball will head to the No. 21-ranked Cumberlands (Ky.) on Saturday to close out the regular season at 12 P.M. CT in the O. Wayne Rollins Center. 

Lindsey Wilson sits at 21-5, and 7-3 in Mid-South Conference play after coming off a 65-62 heartbreaker to No.3 Bethel (Tenn.) on Saturday. Meadow Tisdale leads the offense in MSC play averaging 17.3 points a night on 54.0 percent shooting from the floor. Amelia Hodges tacks on 11.1 points per game while knocking down 90.0 percent of her chances at the charity stripe. Saniyah Shelton and Taylor Guess round out the double-figure scoring with 10.9 points and 10.8 points a night, respectively. 

Georgetown (19-7, 4-6 MSC) picked up back-to-back wins with its most recent coming on Saturday after defeating (RV) Cumberland (Tenn.) 79-68. Daisy Gale is averaging 21.4 points in MSC play alongside 8.5 rebounds a contest. Daysha Reid tallies 14.2 points a night, with Kyra Freeman contributing 10.4 points a contest. 

Cumberlands is on a six-game slide, falling to 17-9 on the season and 2-8 in MSC play. The Patriots most recent defeat came last Thursday in Lebanon, Tennessee after falling to Cumberland 65-61. Joy Kendrick leads the offense in conference play, totaling 16.1 points a contest on 42.9 percent shooting from the floor. Lakin Burke rounds out the double-figure scoring with 10.1 points and 6.8 boards a contest. 

LWU and Georgetown last met on February 2 in the Reid-Davis Alumni gym with the Blue Raiders taking an 80-61 decision. The Tigers lead the all-time series 29-28 with Lindsey Wilson holding a 14-11 record at home. 

February 5 marks the most recent meeting between the Blue Raiders and Patriots with Lindsey Wilson taking the 79-73 victory in Biggers Sports Center. LWU now leads the all-time series 25-24 with a 9-14 record inside the O. Wayne Rollins Center. 

Women's hoops will tip off against Georgetown on Thursday at 5:30 P.M. CT in Biggers Sports Center for the last home game of the season before traveling to Williamsburg, Kentucky on Saturday to close out the regular season at 12 P.M. CT against the Cumberlands.
