No. 11 Women’s Basketball Faces (RV) Cumberlands (Ky.) in Mid-South Conference Tournament Quarterfinals

COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Blue Raider women's basketball team is set to tip off at 7:30 P.M. CT against the Patriots of Cumberlands (Ky.) in the Quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Friday in Bowling Green High School Arena. 

Lindsey Wilson enters the conference tournament at 21-7 and 7-5 in the MSC after falling to the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) on February 21, 63-54 to close out the regular season. Meadow Tisdale led the Blue Raider offense this season averaging 15.9 points alongside 7.3 rebounds a contest. Taylor Guess rounded out the double-figure with 10.4 points a night with 4.5 rebounds a contest. 

On the season, the Blue Raiders averaged 75.2 points a night on 43.7 percent shooting from the field. LWU shot 29.9 percent from the field with Amelia Hodges sitting at 34.9 percent from behind the arc, knocking down 45-of-129 attempts. From the charity stripe, Lindsey Wilson holds a 70.2 percent average, knocking down 433-of-617 opportunities.

Cumberlands comes into the conference tournament after improving to 18-10 and 3-9 in the MSC, tabbing a win over the Blue Raiders on Saturday. Joy Kendrick led the Patriots offense on the season averaging 16.6 points a night on 48.8 percent shooting from the field and 43.3 percent from behind the three-point line. Lakin Burke rounds out the double-figure scoring with 10.5 points a contest and 7.2 rebounds. 

During the regular season the Cumberlands averaged 77.2 points a night on 43.6 percent shooting from the field and 33.1 percent shooting from behind the arc. The Patriots are outrebounding their opponents 46.9 boards to 30.0 boards a contest. 

The Blue Raiders and Patriots met twice in the regular season with LWU taking the first meeting 79-73 and UC taking the second meeting 63-54. Lindsey Wilson shot a combined 37.5 percent from the field during the two meetings, as well as 38.7 percent from behind the arc, and 59.5 percent from the charity stripe. 

Friday's meeting marks the sixth all-time meeting during the conference tournament between the two programs with the Patriots taking a 3-2 advantage. Lindsey Wilson has taken the last two meetings during the MSC quarterfinals, dating back to March 4, 2017 and March 1, 2018. 

Women's hoops will tip off against the Cumberlands at 7:30 P.M. CT during the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Friday in Bowling Green, Kentucky in the Bowling Green High School Arena.
