Akram Nejjar has been named to the 2026 Mid-South Conference men's swimming Champions of Character Team, league officials announced prior to the conference championship meet.
The junior, of Rabat, Morocco, earns Champions of Character distinction for the first time in her career and is the eighth different swimmer in program history to garner the honor from the conference, joining teammate
Ethan Butler.
The Mid-South recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes that are honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on campus and in the community while demonstrating the five core character values of the NAIA.
Campbellsville's (Ky.) Lucca Motta, Cumberlands' (Ky.) Zsombor Bene, Indiana Wesleyan's Cole Hively, Midway's (Ky.) Daniel Maia, and Shawnee State's (Ohio) Evan Ater was each honored with the recognition.
Akram and his Blue Raider teammates continue preparations for the 2026 NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships, March 4-7, in Elkhart, Indiana.
