BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The first match-up of the Mid-South Conference tournament went the distance for the Blue Raider men's bowling team, but it was No. 3-seeded Pikeville (Ky.) taking the last point in a 2-1 Mega Match decision on Thursday evening.
The Bears won a narrow first leg, 949-938.
Cole Greathouse and
Connor Woosley led Lindsey Wilson with individual games of 235 and 208, respectively.
Cameron Farmer rolled a 185, and
Trevor Huff finished with a 176.
In the second format, the Blue Raiders took an early five-pin lead after one baker game, then outshot the Bears over each of the last three, including 197-136 in the fifth game, to compile a final pin fall of 913-823 and force a third leg.
The best-of-seven baker series started with Pikeville grabbing the early edge, 188-182, then eventually carrying that momentum to three more wins and a 4-0 final.
Lindsey Wilson moves to the consolation bracket of the tournament and will play a single best-of-seven baker series at 10:30 a.m. CT on Friday, February 6 against the winner of Union Commonwealth (Ky.) and Tennessee Wesleyan.
